Forest cover, loss, and expansion

This dashboard combines multiple forest datasets to show forest area, share of land under forest, and deforestation pressures across African countries.

We use FAO-based estimates compiled by Our World in Data to track forest cover and change, as well as indicators of commodity-driven deforestation and Africa’s share of global forest and forest expansion.
